The component takes a varying number of hits depending on the health and build tier of the component and the weapon used. Here are a few examples of commonly used raiding melee tools: Doors. A Tool Cupboard (Tool Cabinet or TC) is the key component of your base. No matter how many layers of honeycombing and doors you have, if a raider gets hold of your Tool Cupboard, the raid is pretty much finished. This is why you need to properly secure your tool cupboard behind layers of traps and doors. The following is the best way to properly secure your Tool Cupboard and still be able to access it. For this modular TC room build you will need the following resources:
- 1150 metal frags - 1250 scrap - 1173 wood - 188 HQM These resources will be used to craft the following components: - 1 Tool Cupboard - 1 Reinforced glass window - 1 Metal Horizontal Embrasure - 1 Work Bench Level Three - 2 HQM Walls - 1 HQM Window Frame - 1 HQM Triangle foundation - 1 HQM Triangle Ceiling To start off you will need to place your triangle foundation and then 2 walls and a window frame on the foundation. Place the triangle roof on top of the walls and window frame to complete the basic frame. Upgrade all sections to HQM as soon as possible. Place your Tool Cupboard on the foundation, but make sure to leave enough room for a lock and a window embrasure. Lock your tool cupboard either using the Key Lock or the Code Lock. Place a Reinforced Glass Window into the window frame and a metal horizontal embrasure onto the back of the window, leaving the side facing you exposed. Then, add a Tier Three Work Bench in front of the Reinforced Window to increase the raid cost. This is the final product of your TC room. The following list shows the raid cost through different parts: - Front using explosive ammo = 709 ammo ± 7 → 17,725 sulfur - Front using rockets = 17 rockets ± 1 → 23,800 sulfur - Front using satchels = 39 satchels ± 1 → 18,720 sulfur - Walls using explosive ammo = 798 ammo ± 7 → 19,950 sulfur - Walls using rockets = 15 rockets ± 1 → 21,000 sulfur - Walls using satchels = 46 satchels ± 1 → 18,720 sulfur This Tool Cupboard room design is not for the weak hearted. It is costly and can be a real pain in the butt when raiding. Yes, it is also a pain in the butt for adding materials into the Tool Cupboard again, but it can be done. In order to access your Tool Cupboard, you will need a hammer and enough resources to repair both the window and the metal embrasure. First, crouch-jump onto the Work Bench and squeeze yourself up against the back. Then, using the hammer, rotate the Work Bench so that you can see the Reinforced Glass Window. Then pick up both the Reinforced Glass Window and the Metal Horizontal Embrasure. Now you can access the Tool Cupboard. To secure your Tool Cupboard once adding the proper materials, reverse the process by replacing the Reinforced Glass Window and the Metal Horizontal Embrasure and finish it off by rotating the Work Bench back into place.
